CATL Qilin cells - CTP 3.0, large-format NMC prismatic - do not usually appear on the open market as new production stock.
500,000 cells are available now. ~274.5 MWh total. Cling is handling the transaction.
What CTP 3.0 means for an ESS build
CTP stands for Cell-to-Pack. Most large-format prismatic formats assume a module layer between cells and pack. CATL's CTP removes it. The cells become load-bearing.
CTP 3.0 - the Qilin generation - redesigned the thermal management layer at the same time. Coolant runs directly between cell bodies, not above them. Cooling is faster and more even across the stack. At pack level that translates to better sustained discharge performance and longer cycle life under real operating conditions.
The energy density works out to ~244 Wh/kg at cell level. That is toward the top end for NMC prismatic cells on the market today.
For an ESS integrator it also means simpler mechanical integration. Fewer components between cells and enclosure. Less weight to move and bolt in place.
The cell specs
148.5 Ah capacity per cell. 3.7 V nominal voltage. ~549 Wh per cell.
Internal resistance: 0.3 mΩ. That headroom matters when you need fast charge rates.
Dimensions: 44 × 194 × 114 mm, 2.25 kg. Dense geometry relative to the energy per cell.
Every cell carries an individual QR code - CATL traces production at cell level on this platform.
